FaltyDL - You Stand Uncertain

New York’s Drew Lustman, aka Falty DL is often labelled a dubstep producer, but that’s to do a disservice to his broad spectrum of sounds. There’s nothing at all wrong with dubstep of course – and Lustman borrows liberally enough from it - but as You Stand Uncertain, his second album, underlines, his vision extends much further along the hardcore continuum into drum & bass, 2-step and hip hop.

Here he’s pushed himself further too, attempting his first vocal tracks check opener ‘Gospel Of Opal ft. Anneka’ and the classy 2-step of ‘Brazil’, with UK-based singer Lily McKenzie.

Throughout he balances his trademark bass-savvy aesthetic with an engaging, spaced-out insouciance – the bastard child of Burial and cosmic techno don Dan Curtin if you will.
