Various - The Sacred Symbols Of Mu

Once upon a time there was a perception that Mike "µ-Ziq" Paradinas' Planet Mu label was eclipsed by the better-known Rephlex and Warp. Paradinas, however, would have none of that, and his non-stop work ethic and bloody-minded dedication to finding the freshest and maddest electronic music in existence means Planet Mu has now truly come into its own. From the cream of grime (Virus Syndicate) and dubstep (Pinch, Vex'd, Boxcutter) through the most wilfully stupid breakcore and jungle revivalism (Venetian Snares, Soundmurderer) to party-rocking funk from Luke Vibert, there's not one track on this compilation that doesn't fizz with invention and wit. This is an indispensable album from what is almost certinly the most dependable label in Britian.
