ok, so they may be outtakes and leftovers from mike 'µ-ziq' paradinas' floor, but his scraps are better then most people's proper servings. and there are a lot of them here; 34 tracks in total, lickedly-split into 2 cd's. to be blunt; i thought his last lp ('bilious paths') sucked. too complex, horribly obtuse and somehow we'd heard it all before....

Mike Paradinas is an experimenter of electronic delicatessen and he's active on different fronts of the electronic scene: with µ-ZIQ and with the Planet Mu label (he runs it and he's also the owner). This new double CD (his third one released as Kid Spatula on Planet Mu) contains material picked up from his 1994/1998 DAT archives. Mike Paradinas is a busy man. Apart from running the Planet-Mu label and releasing unique work under many pseudonyms across many genres, he has managed to don the Kid Spatula hat for a while, and dusted off 34 quality tracks originally created in the 94-98 period. The Kid Spatula pseudonym seems to be reserved for work which is largely playful and melodic, with Meast being the 3rd release following on from Full Sunken Breaks (Planet Mu, 2000) and

Two Lone Swordsmen's new LP, From the Double Gone Chapel, sees the duo genre hopping from their familiar leftfield electronic productions into lo-fi rock band territory with undertones of gothy dub and punk tinged with occasional synth grumbles.
