from the recurrent themes department, yet another artist gallops onto the scene from the planet mu stable. a newcomer whose real name is as loaded with associations as his moniker, christopher reeves aka. gasman fires off an hour's worth of spastic exposition with his debut album, remedial. by virtue of its varied ingredients, remedial struggles to hold form as a complete album. minor transgression, really.

One of the finest harvesters of talents, Mike Paradinas is once again working his magic and bringing some fresh and creative blood into his roster. Portsmouth-based Christopher Reeves, or The Gasman as he likes to be called, is the most recent recruit from Planet Mu. Expanding seriously on the possibilities offered by the laptop computer to musicians over recent years, Reeves presents a rather interesting and slightly disturbing record.

The past is one scary motherfucking place, and one man, The Gasman, appreciates this. An album made up almost entirely from cut-up and processed, old two-inch reel-to-reel classical recordings, with many utterly gross musical nuances. 'Horses On Ice' (track no.1) is one of the most flagrant attempts Iíve ever heard to alienate and attack listeners with just horribly dark and baron illbient soundscapes - yeah, it's mint and we're scared
