    <b> Frog Pocket </b> - Come On Primates Show Your Teeth!

    Frog Pocket hails from Ayr in Scotland and his album fuses the early Warp electronica of the likes of The Black Dog and Autechre with the folk infused downtempo experimentalism of Four Tet. This album crosses the electronic spectrum but retains a seriously psychedelic edge. An eclectic but deeply worthwhile collection for those that are up for a challenge and those who are just simply challenged.

    It's a playful spirit that Boxcutter - aka Northern Ireland-based producer Barry Lynn explores further on Glyphic, his second album for Planet Mu. The title track makes a neat fist of blending dubstep signifiers with Sun Ra/Pahroh Sanders-style astral jazz.     Ever since his debut release on Hot Flush, and his first album 'Oneric' on Planet Mu, Bary Lynn (AKA Boxcutter) has been lumped under the dubstep banner with a certain degree of apprehension.     Having evolved from tight-knit scenes in London and Manchester, dubstep remains a largely localised phenomenon. Boxcutter's Barry Lynn might live in Northern Ireland, but his feel for the razor-edged rhythms and echo-chamber intricacies of the music id second to none, exemplified here by the heavyweight bassline that propels the epic Windfall.
