Description
Julian hails from Vancouver, Canada. He worked as a day trader on the NASDAQ until he gave it up for music (man). I met him in Seattle on my Bilious Paths tour where he gave me a cd. He'd previously been in bands (Waikiki) and done electronic forum geek mp3 stuff under "Aardvark Interface" and "Taoist Blockade". But. This 21 year old has produced an album that belies his years. Epic songs that recall Radiohead, The Flaming Lips or Mercury Rev mix with the kind of lush electronic production heard on Mum's second album or Four Tet, but these songs build and have an intensity similar to Godspeed. OK, maybe I've bigged it up too much, but it's a good album. Girls like it. People who hate Planet Mu will like it. He'll probably sign to some other big label...
